Parenting for Beginners

There it is, a huge lump of yellow gunk just about ready to block your baby’s ear canal. It is ever soooo tempting to just reach and flick it off. My fingers are itching to go at it.

But. No. No. No. Zip it. Keep that finger away. Seal the Q-tip away too. Lock it up. Natch. Natch.

However tempting it is to clean up your baby’s earwax — why, good hygiene would dictates it a must to clean ears (!) — we just have to suffer looking at them and try our best to clean the outside of the ear, around and behind with a soft wash cloth.

Remember, these are delicate times for a growing baby and the last thing he needs is a damaged ear in favor of hygiene.
